The Maverick Theater's 2023 Production of Steven King's Misery.

Concept: This show was double cast, and the challenge in that for me as the Costume Designer was to compliment Alli and Terri on their different approaches to the character of Annie Wilkes. For Alli, I decided on a lighter color palette to compliment her blonde hair and her more bouncy personality as Annie. For Terri, I went with a darker color palette because of her darker hair color, and her more subdued acting choice as Annie. 

 

For both Annie's I created custom corduroy vintage inspired jumper dresses with pockets, as this show is very prop heavy and the actors needed plenty of places to store small needles and vials.

 

For both Paul Sheldon actors I had to alter a dress shirt to be open in the back with just a snap at the neck for a very fast quick change at the end of the show.
